TikTok is making a major push into travel commerce with the launch of TikTok GO, a new in-app feature designed to let users discover and book hotels, tours and local experiences directly through creator content.

Initially launching in the US, TikTok GO aims to bridge the gap between travel inspiration and transaction by integrating booking functionality into the platform’s existing discovery ecosystem across videos, search and location pages.

Users will be able to browse accommodation listings and experiences surfaced through TikTok content, check availability and complete bookings without leaving the app. TikTok says the feature is integrated into the same platform already used by more than 200 million Americans.

The launch includes partnerships with major travel and booking platforms, including Booking.com, Expedia, Viator, GetYourGuide, Tiqets and Trip.com.

For creators, TikTok GO introduces a new monetisation layer tied directly to travel and local discovery content. Creators who feature hotels, attractions and experiences in their videos will be able to link audiences directly to bookings, with opportunities to earn affiliate commission and participate in branded campaigns.

This will only enhance what we already know about consumer behaviour, especially amongst Gen Z. According to a recent Adobe study, nearly one in two consumers (49%) use TikTok as a search engine. Additionally, 38% of business owners plan to increase investment in TikTok affiliate marketing next year, compared to 31% for influencer marketing.

“Every day on TikTok, millions of people discover where to eat, where to stay, and what to do next,” said Adam Presser, CEO of TikTok USDS Joint Venture. “TikTok GO connects that moment of inspiration directly to the businesses behind it.”

The launch also reflects a broader shift in how travel brands are approaching customer acquisition. Rather than relying solely on search or traditional advertising, platforms are increasingly investing in creator-led discovery and social recommendation as booking drivers.

"Our partnership with TikTok marks a major shift in how travel experiences are booked through TikTok GO – enabling travellers to move directly from discovery to a seamless booking,” said Johannes Reck, Co-Founder & CEO, Get Your Guide. “With TikTok GO, we're at the centre of that transformation, right at the moment of inspiration."

Mark van der Linden, VP Partnerships at Booking.com, is also positive about the new partnership. “We’re excited to collaborate with TikTok to turn those ‘I wish I were there’ moments into real stays with TikTok GO. By bringing Booking.com directly into the TikTok journey, travellers can move from discovering a dream accommodation in a video to securing their stay in just a few taps — making it easier than ever to turn inspiration into unforgettable experiences.”

At launch, TikTok GO is only available in the US, and users must be over 18 to complete bookings. We’re awaiting confirmation of a UK rollout.
