On the sidelines of PI LIVE, the Hello Partner team caught up with Maura Smith, Partnerize’s Chief Marketing Officer, to hear about what the zero-click economy means for the industry’s infrastructure, connecting AI influence to commercial outcomes, and the launch of its industry-first integration.
A new infrastructure
The conversation follows a big year for Partnerize, from new tech launches to transformative industry initiatives, all against the backdrop of seismic industry shifts.
“With consumer discovery increasingly mediated by AI, we’ve entered the zero-click economy. That means we can no longer rely on the measurement infrastructure utilised during the last-click era,” explained Smith.
This environment requires a fundamental change in approach: independent infrastructure designed specifically for machine-mediated commerce.
This shift, Smith explained, demands moving beyond mere AI visibility to establish verifiable commercial evidence.
“Visibility is just an observable signal — it is not economic value. You have to connect that presence to an independent, governed standard that decides when influence qualifies to inform compensation models.”
Stepping beyond AI influence
Since launching VantagePoint — the measurement, verification, and economic governance solution for machine-mediated commerce — at PI LIVE last year, Smith explained that the platform has been pushing forward the education piece around this conversation with brands and publishers.
“Earlier this year in 2026, we launched the Lighthouse Compensation Program, which is ultimately helping brands and publishers connect their AI influence all the way through to commercial outcomes or conversions,” said Smith.
Smith highlighted that marquee enterprise brands across travel, hospitality, and retail are actively participating. With upstream discovery intelligence from VantagePoint™, these brands can verify commercial influence and use auditable rules to govern how they commission publishers when editorial content shapes AI-generated answers and purchase consideration.
For publishers and content creators, the journey has to follow a clear commercial progression: Prove ➔ Benchmark ➔ Verify ➔ Monetise, emphasised Smith.
“Actionable isn’t yet payable, and presence is not proof. Observed influence must pass an independent verification check to separate verified contribution from unvalidated signals. That requires an objective trust layer — which is why VantagePoint™ achieved AAM Platform Certification through the Alliance for Audited Media, and why we formally embarked on the Media Rating Council (MRC) accreditation process, officially classified as a Service Under Review pre-audit in process August 2026. Independent verification ensures that eligible partner compensation is governed by transparent, auditable rules rather than self-reported claims.”
The latest buildout of its arsenal is an integration between Partnerize and AI marketing platform Profound, a first-of-its-kind launch that turns AI visibility into verified economic value.
