🪛Who's Building the Next-Gen Partnership Tools?

Plus, AI-driven job cuts hit the ad industry, but what’s the path ahead?

Together with:

We're bouncing into an exciting season for the industry. PI LIVE Europe - Festival of Partnerships is right around the corner — my first with Hello Partner — and Conference Producer Sol Wilkinson has put together an incredible agenda for conversations you won't get anywhere else. More on that and our first-of-its-kind keynote tomorrow.

This week, we've also got details on PI LIVE BuildLab, an initiative for architecting the next-gen partnership tools, new data on LLMs and coupons, as well as insight into AI-driven job cuts and more.

Now, let’s roll with the news.

Levanta: You don't have time to audit your program. Good, you don't need to.

You don't have time to comb through your affiliate program right now. You barely have time for the partners who are actually posting.

That's exactly how programs go quiet. One partner stops showing up. Nobody notices because nobody has time to look. Your top 3 quietly start carrying 80% of sales while new applications pile up unread.

This isn't a cleanup project. It's 7 signs to look for, 2 minutes – no spreadsheet, no audit, no digging through payout history.

REVO generated more than $1M in affiliate sales, and Grace & Stella drove $350K while climbing from Amazon BSR #520 to #28.

Industry Insight

Stay at the top of your game

Looking to become a better affiliate manager? This week, we share Alexandra Gogalniceanu’s insights from a media buyer’s perspective.

First off, communication: it matters. Alexandra says that while an offer might not be jumped on straight away, staying visible and maintaining good communication keeps a relationship alive.

“Yes, we know you have 500 affiliates and 47 telegram messages. Sometimes we’re also too busy to do anything with your offer today. But that doesn’t mean we won’t test it next month.”

And, in order to maintain your credibility, technical knowledge is key. That means you need to understand the basics, whether that's tracking and postbacks or basic troubleshooting. In tandem: know your numbers. Data is the foundation of the industry, so you should be able to interpret this information and use it to take ownership of problems and find solutions.

You should also be curious about traffic, and where it comes from, Alexandra notes. Getting your head around how affiliates acquire traffic will give you more insight into what they need, and act accordingly.

At the same time, you should have knowledge about what you’re actually promoting.

“If you’re asking someone to spend their own money testing your offer, you should understand the product, the funnel, the audience, the limitations and what actually makes it convert.”

And the underrated quality among affiliate managers? Proactivity. Spot the affiliate opportunity and provide the path.

“A good AM sees the opportunity before the affiliate knows to ask for it. And ultimately, that’s what I think the job should be about. Not just managing offers and affiliates. Helping both sides make more money.”
