The news comes against a backdrop of influencer and affiliate model convergence, with brands seeking to formalise creator monetisation.

Minecraft Launches First-Ever Affiliate Programme with impact.com

This week, Minecraft announced its first-ever affiliate programme to manage creator relationships, track affiliate performance, and reward partners.

With the announcement, the sandbox game, which has sold over 300 million copies and hosts more than 200 million active users monthly, lays the groundwork for remunerating the community for creating, sharing, and recommending Minecraft experiences and positions itself as an emerging player in the creator and affiliate economy.

The programme will utilise impact.com’s Performance and Creator partnership solutions, the latter enabling Minecraft to discover, recruit, and manage creator partnerships at scale, while the former provides tracking, attribution, and payout capabilities.

According to the partnership management platform, the combined solutions will allow Minecraft to support multiple partner types, from creators and publishers to educators and Minecraft Marketplace partners, and access tracking, reporting, and real-time performance dashboards to analyse the content that connects with audiences.

The launch comes amidst a broader convergence of influencer and affiliate models, as consumers increasingly seek out authentic, community-led recommendations and brands look to formalise creator monetisation.

The programme aims to provide Minecraft creators with the tools to facilitate that, turning influence into earnings. “Minecraft has one of the most passionate creator communities in the world, and this program gives those creators a way to turn their influence into real business results,” commented David A. Yovanno, CEO at impact.com.

“With impact.com's Creator and Performance solutions running together, Minecraft can build a global partnership ecosystem that pays creators for real outcomes without compromising the authenticity that makes this community what it is,” he added.
