We recently spoke with Maira Genovese, Founder and CEO of MG Empower, to hear her insight into why industry professionals should keep human connection at the forefront.
Genovese shared that while the industry is digital-first, in recent years, MG Empower has noticed a shift in what brands are seeking out, with an increasing focus on brand experience, something which she attributes to the human connection element.
Here, the CEO noted that as the profession — and our day-to-day — becomes more digital, it’s important to remember that human connection sets the tone for everything, and balance is key.
“At the end of the day, all we want is to feel connected and feel emotion, and digital is never going to give us that,” said Genovese.
And when it comes to creating psychological safety, Genovese said that to avoid conflict, there needs to be a culture where talking about challenges, risks and disagreements openly is okay — and this is something that leadership should help drive.
