​We recently spoke with Maira Genovese, Founder and CEO of MG Empower, to hear her insight into why industry professionals should keep human connection at the forefront.

​Genovese shared that while the industry is digital-first, in recent years, MG Empower has noticed a shift in what brands are seeking out, with an increasing focus on brand experience, something which she attributes to the human connection element.

​Here, the CEO noted that as the profession — and our day-to-day — becomes more digital, it’s important to remember that human connection sets the tone for everything, and balance is key.

​“At the end of the day, all we want is to feel connected and feel emotion, and digital is never going to give us that,” said Genovese.

​And when it comes to creating psychological safety, Genovese said that to avoid conflict, there needs to be a culture where talking about challenges, risks and disagreements openly is okay — and this is something that leadership should help drive.
