​Over the last few months, we’ve reported on a number of research reports that have shown AI use is on the rise in the path to purchase.

​During this time, some have suggested that AI is more trusted than social feeds; others that the tools are bad at finding discounts; industry commentators have claimed that AI’s real role is in recommendation, while other research has forecast that by 2031, the number of agentic commerce users could rise to 1.3bn.

​Now, a new report on holiday shopping from performance marketing agency PartnerCentric says that while 43% purchased a product recommended by an AI chatbot in the last three months, creator trust and reviews are still key to translating AI visibility into holiday conversions.
