With Instagram Live views accelerated by 70% during the first week of April according to Facebook, influencer marketing agency Digital Brand Architects (DBA) has partnered with web design start-up chloédigital to create “Your Live Guide.”
The “Your Live Guide” website is branding itself a “TV guide of live content” and allows creators to promote their Instagram Lives, and users to discover Lives they are interested in and schedule accordingly so they don’t forget to tune in.
Instagram Live is seeing its biggest moment since its launch in 2016 as creators and brands look to Instagram Live as another way to connect with their audience, whether through real-time Q&As, workouts or DJ sets. Instagram Live is free and users can join, comment and react to the content. Mentions of IG Live on Instagram and Twitter increased by 526%between March 8 and March 15, according to Jeannette Ornelas, senior digital marketing analyst at Mintel.
chloédigital founder Chloe Watts’ collaborated with Reesa Lake, partner and executive vice president of brand partnerships at (DBA) to launch the tool. The idea came about as they noticed an overwhelming amount of Instagram Lives taking place each day and started to forget what ones were taking place when.
With “Your Live Guide,” creators can upload their upcoming Live content so users can find livestreams easily by searching hashtags they are interested in or scrolling through the home page.
The platform is in beta and has the potential to become an app and to be monetized. With the likes of live streaming on Twitch and TikTok’s Live feature also gaining popularity, “Your Live Guide” plans to include all types of livestreams, not just Instagram.
Celebrity Whitney Port has listed her live content on the site to help “motivate her to strategize her Instagram LIve Content, ” she told Business Insider. More celebrities are sure to follow.
It will be interesting to see how the platform changes over the coming months and whether livestreaming maintains popularity post-Quarantine.
