Facebook is now Meta

Mark Zuckerberg's announcement that Facebook is being rebranded to Meta happened at the end of October, so November has been the month for the industry to really digest what this means. Under the new name ‘Meta’, all of Facebook’s apps and technologies will become greater connected. The focus of Meta will be to bring the metaverse to life and help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.

Zuckerberg’s latest vision has the future at the forefront. Meta says: “The metaverse will feel like a hybrid of today’s online social experiences, sometimes expanded into three dimensions or projected into the physical world. It will let you share immersive experiences with other people even when you can’t be together — and do things together you couldn’t do in the physical world.”

If those within the influencer marketing space haven’t thought about the metaverse until now, this is certainly the time to explore the opportunities it holds.
