We live in an era where marketing budgets are constantly under scrutiny and performance accountability is paramount.
So, the standout datapoint from the APMA’s latest State of the Nation report arrives as very welcome news: affiliate marketing in the UK now delivers an average ROI of 16:1, with some sectors hitting a staggering 20:1.
That means for every £1 brands spend on affiliate marketing, they’re generating £16 – £20 in tracked revenue; figures that put other major paid channels in the shade.
Google and Meta, by comparison, return around $8 for every $1 spent – and this is when they’re performing at their very best.
Display sits much lower at around £1.50 - £2.34 for every £1 spent.
Influencer marketing averages out at 6.5:1, with some of the top executions reaching 20:1.
“The consistently high ROI delivered by affiliate marketing, outperforming even major channels like Google and Meta, should give advertisers pause when reviewing budget allocations,” said Julia Stent, APMA advisory board member.
