Threads faces backlash as users and creators express disappointment over a surge in low-quality recommendations, including concerning levels of hate speech.

Threads Struggles to Impress Marketers and Creators With Low-Quality Recommendations

In a recent apology video, Instagram Head Adam Mosseri acknowledged the growing issue of "low-quality recommendations" on Meta’s Threads, the integrated social media platform.

The situation has left both casual users and content creators disheartened as the platform's feed, tied to Instagram, is inundated with subpar content, ranging from irrelevant posts to engagement bait.

Mosseri expressed regret over the deteriorating quality of suggestions on Threads, admitting that the platform had faced challenges in recent weeks. While these recommendations don't necessarily violate Community Guidelines outright, they skirt the line, leading to a less-than-ideal user experience. Assuring users that the team is actively working on a fix, Mosseri mentioned that significant improvements have already been made.
