Legislation has been slow to catch up, and publishers are searching for ways to both control and monetise their intellectual property in a landscape dominated by LLMs.
The Standards for Publisher Usage Rights (SPUR) Coalition launched earlier this year to tackle some of these challenges through the development of industry standards, frameworks and technologies.
