University degrees are busy playing catch-up, but are they really that effective? A report by Olsberg SPI for ScreenSkills and the BBC reveals that traditional higher education degrees are failing to equip digital content creators with the practical skills needed to build sustainable businesses. The data in the Creator Skills: Progression, Provision and Priorities report could suggest some more agile alternatives.

As the creator economy matures into a recognised and highly employable sector, conventional film, TV, and media courses, while valuable, are leaving graduates unprepared for the reality of modern content creation.
