Last year was both good and bad for Reddit. 

On the one hand, Google algorithm changes held the platform aloft in search results.

For a period of time, it seemed that nearly any search term yielded a Reddit discussion in the coveted top spot of Google. 

All of this attention led to an eruption in new traffic for the platform. It also attracted the curiosity of affiliates, who had largely been swept out of Google search results by various algorithm changes.
