Taboola has snapped up former Amazon VP Krishan Bhatia to lead global sales and partnerships as Chief Business Officer.

Bhatia joins Taboola from Amazon, where he led the giant’s global video advertising business. Before that post, Taboola’s latest hire served as the President and Chief Business Officer of NBCUniversal’s Global Advertising and Partnerships Division.

According to the company, the new role will zone in on bolstering revenue growth across Taboola’s product portfolio, including Realize, a performance marketing platform launched last February and DeeperDive, a gen-AI answer engine for publisher sites used by the likes of Gannett, Reach, and India Today.

Taboola’s AI offering aligns with a wider industry shift towards the technology and a growing focus on AI innovation and automation.

Adam Singolda, CEO of Taboola, said that Bhatia joins at a “pivotal moment” in the company’s journey, amidst new advertising product offerings.

“He understands how to operate at scale, how to partner with brands and agencies, and how to execute with discipline,” said Singolda.

In a statement to Hello Partner, Taboola said that Bhatia’s addition will allow the company to further scale and take its “go to market execution to the next level.”

“He's shown he could do that launching and leading advertising businesses at Amazon and NBCUniversal,” David Struzzi, Communications Lead at Taboola, said.

“In the months ahead, Krishan will focus on driving adoption of Realize, driving investment from mid-market and enterprise advertisers, and establishing new partnerships with holdcos and indie agencies, marketers, technology providers, and a wider set of advertisers,” he added.

Looking ahead, the company shared its focus is on driving performance.

“With recent news about partnerships with Paramount and LG Ad Solutions, you're seeing that our performance tech can complement and work hand-in-hand with branding solutions,” said Struzzi.
