For better or for worse, the attention this week has been on American Eagle’s “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans” campaign. 

Developed in-house, the ad has received a lot of backlash, and it seems people think that it just missed the mark entirely. Let’s delve into why it was controversial, because they say all press is good press. Was that the case for American Eagle?
