As Prime Day approaches, Amazon is rolling out increased commission rates to incentivise influencers to drive more sales.

From July 1 to July 20, influencers participating in Amazon’s affiliate program, Amazon Associates, will earn elevated commissions, in some cases up to twice the standard rate. The limited-time increase was shared with participants in the program, which allows creators to earn a percentage of purchases made through their custom referral links.

This commission boost aligns with Amazon’s expansion of Prime Day, which has grown from a two-day to a four-day event this year, offering influencers more time and potential earnings during one of the biggest shopping periods of the year.

According to a dedicated page for influencers on Amazon’s website, the higher rates apply to 13 product categories, including beauty, home goods, jewellery, and kitchen and dining items. Specific increases include a jump from 3% to 6% for beauty and grooming, business and industrial supplies, and power and hand tools.

Jewellery commissions have doubled from 4% to 8%. Premium beauty product rates have increased from 10% to 12.5%, while commissions for toys and games have risen from 3% to 5%.

“Amazon offers a variety of creator incentives during and around Prime Day, as well as during other key shopping moments throughout the year,” said an Amazon spokesperson, as reported by ADWEEK. “Some of these incentives include increases on the standard rate card, bounties, and gift cards. Creators work hard in the lead-up to Prime Day, and these are just some of the ways we can reward their commitment.”

These elevated commissions could provide a meaningful boost for influencers who invest heavily in content creation during the Prime Day window.
