With so many browser changes happening at the moment, the future of affiliate tracking has naturally become a topic of debate.

Chrome’s polishing off third-party cookies, Safari’s chopping away tracking parameters, and the AppStore has recently started to pick apart apps’ APIs.

How can the affiliate space maintain accurate tracking and attribution, while complying with stricter regulations that make it more difficult to follow the customer journey?

It’s been suggested that an API (or server-side) approach may be more fool-proof moving forwards – a safer option to tag-based tracking. Does that mean that the affiliate JavaScript tag won’t have a future in the industry?
