ChatGPT Drops ‘Instant Checkout’ in US: What it Means for Affiliate Marketing

ChatGPT’s in-chat ‘Instant Checkout’ has finally dropped for US users.

It allows you to buy products directly in chat from Etsy sellers, with “over a million” Shopify merchants set to follow, including Glossier, SKIMS, Spanx and Vuori.

Co-developed with Stripe, Instant Checkout lets shoppers move from product discovery to purchase in just a few prompts. Users can use natural language to search for products, and ChatGPT will surface products based on relevance. 

If the product is available for purchase via the platform, then a ‘Buy’ button will pop up. OpenAI collects a transaction fee from merchants once a product is sold.
