Vimeo is launching Vimeo Streaming, a brand-new service that allows content creators to have their own subscription service without needing to code a single line.

Vimeo Streaming will get rid of all of the technical barriers that prevent creators from building monetised video platforms while avoiding YouTube algorithm problems and low Instagram and TikTok payouts. It’s a huge win for creators.

What are the new features?

According to Vimeo’s product page, Vimeo Streaming will be similar to a “Netflix-style streaming service” used by a huge array of different brands.

Creators will now be able to launch tiered memberships, host premium live events, sell merchandise directly to fans, access security for their content and even use AI to translate their videos.

Customise your site’s appearance
Creators will be able to customise the appearance of their site without having any coding skills. Logos, colours, fonts and domain names can all be easily edited, as well as content display options.

Use high-quality video and live streaming
Videos uploaded to your site will be able to stream in 4K. Vimeo also states you’ll be able to protect your content with Digital Rights Management, geo-blocking, privacy settings and more.

Monetise your platform
On Vimeo Streaming, you’ll be able to monetise your OTT platform with a subscription for predictable recurring revenue, video purchase or rental, advertising, or sponsorships.

Reach a worldwide audience
Sharing your content across platforms and devices, embedding videos or using APIs to build unique experiences just became instantaneous for creators.

Furthermore, Vimeo Streaming uses AI-powered translations and accepts most worldwide currencies.
