Google is apparently testing a new channel reporting feature for Performance Max campaigns, addressing a common criticism of the automated ad type.

Currently, Performance Max consolidates multiple Google channels, leaving advertisers with little visibility into channel-specific performance.

However, new reports suggest Google may offer insights into how budgets are distributed across channels like Search, Display, YouTube, and Gmail.

A photograph emerged on LinkedIn showing potential channel breakdowns from the Google Think event in Amsterdam.

While Google has not officially confirmed the feature, it could offer advertisers greater control and transparency, enabling better campaign optimisation. Keep an eye on this as it could be a major development for those running Performance Max campaigns.
