Stay at the top of your game
Simon Delaney, CEO of Databowl, wrote a useful post about affiliate relationships.
He said, "There's a line in Goodfellas that sums up how people get hit by fraud in affiliate lead gen...'See, your murderers come with smiles, they come as your friends, the people who’ve cared for you all of your life. And they always seem to come at a time that you’re at your weakest and most in need of their help.'"
Delaney explains that while close relationships can drive success on affiliate programmes, they can introduce biases, get you stuck in your ways, and allow fraud to creep in.
He warns not to place friendly relationships over results. Ensure that you're keeping the programme fresh. Don't lose sight of the ultimate goal.
