There’s a phenomenon with tropical cyclones known as the ‘eye’. It is a region of calm weather at the centre of the storm. As the eye passes over an area, there can be a sudden and deceptive clearing of the sky and a reduction in wind, leading to a false sense of security that the storm has dissipated.
But the lull is temporary. Once the eye passes, the other side of the storm (often stronger) hits, bringing back intense winds, rain, and possibly more severe conditions.
When it comes to cookie deprecation, you could say we’re currently in the eye of the cyclone.
It might seem like the bad weather has passed, but this is an illusion.
