The evolving health concerns around the COVID-19 pandemic is disrupting business travel and global events at pace due to the concern concentration of people in enclosed spaces and ad budgets freezing. Talking Influence is monitoring industry events and the current status of events is as follows.
Influencer Marketing Awards and Influencer Marketing Show
For the wellbeing of clients, delegates and team, Talking Influence has decided to reschedule a number of events, including the Influencer Marketing Show NYC and Influencer Marketing Awards. More details ad new dates can be found here.
Adobe Summit
Adobe Summit typically attracts about 16,000 people and is moving online March 29-April 2.
Advertising Week Europe
Advertising Week Europe, due to run this week, has now been rescheduled for September 14 following concerns around COVID-19. The same programming is expected to take place.
SXSW
SXSW, scheduled for March 13 to 22, has been cancelled.
“We’ve learned that if there’s anything more difficult than producing an event the magnitude of #SXSW, it’s cancelling one,” the team said in a Tweet. While the Austin-based music, tech, and film festival initially planned to operate as usual, Austin Mayor Steve Adler officially canceled the event on March 6.
VidCon
For now, VidCon’s flagship U.S. edition is still agoing ahead amid a wave of cancellations of other events over the coronavirus outbreak.
The Chartered Insitute of Marketing events
CIM events taking place on 17, 18, 19 and 24 March in London, Derby, Buckingham, and Hatfield have all been cancelled.
Facebook F8
Facebook’s event for developers, publishers and partners will now be streamed online May 5-6.
Snapchat’s Partner Summit
Snap’s second annual publishing and advertising conference, the Snap Partner Summit, has been cancelled, moving the event to an online-only event instead. Invitees have been asked to tune into Snap.com at 10:30 a.m. PT on April 2 to hear the anticipated product announcements and CEO Evan Spiegel’s keynote.
Influencer 360
Influencer 360 is still going ahead as planned on 5 May at the moment.
Beautycon
Beautycon announced on March 11 it will be postponing its Los Angeles festival on August 1 to 2. The conference will now be held on December 5 and 6. The New York festival on October 31 and November 1 is still set to go ahead. The Tokyo conference has been postponed to 2021.
YouTube on Stage
YouTube on Stage, a live event showcasing artists on the streaming platform, was cancelled several hours before it was scheduled to take place Wednesday night in London.
Youth Marketing Strategy London
Due to take place at The Old Truman Brewery in Shoreditch on 29-30 April, in light of the concerns around COVID-19, the event has now been rescheduled for 2 and 3 September.
DMEXCO 2020
Although not scheduled until September, digital marketing conference DMEXCO will continue to run on September 23 and 24 in Cologne.
Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity
Cannes is planning to go ahead as usual on June 22-26 in Cannes, France.
Dubai Lynx International Festival of Creativity
Dubai Lynx International Festival of Creativity is the Middle East version of Cannes Lions, and it is partly owned by Ascential, which also owns the Cannes show. This has been postponed to September 6-9.
Kindred 2020
Kindred 2020, which brings together influencers and creators with brand marketers, has been postponed to September 14-17 from May 11-14.
Shopify Unite
Shopify, the e-commerce platform, cancelled the “in-person” portions of its yearly developer conference, opting to host some of the sessions online instead.
The Lead Summit
The conference focusing on brands, retailers, tech startups and e-commere has been rescheduled from May to July 7-8.
