Stay at the top of your game
âMost brands treat affiliates like a side channel. The smart ones treat affiliates like paid media,â says Ishtvan Torpoi.
According to Ishtvan, scale comes when affiliates act like media buyers.
âYour job as an advertiser isnât to âget affiliatesâ. Your job is to give affiliates something they can run profitably.â
This means zoning in on strong copy and multiple creatives, testing for volume and conversation rate and, when the time calls for it, killing your darlings.
Indeed, while good affiliates will double down on what works, bad programmes try to keep everything alive, says Ishtvan.
But itâs also about shifting mindset. Affiliates, he says, are not just publishers, but also traffic buyers with their own budget.
âTreat affiliates like paid media and your program will start scaling like it.â
