Tip of the Week

Stay at the top of your game

If your LinkedIn feed has been dominated by older posts lately, there’s a reason. LinkedIn confirmed to Business Insider that it recently updated its algorithm to prioritise relevance over recency.

Rolled out in mid-June, the change means the platform now surfaces content it believes is professionally valuable, such as job changes or industry insights from close connections, regardless of when it was posted.

The updated algorithm focuses on:

  • Your engagement history
  • The importance of your relationship to the poster
  • The author’s perceived domain expertise

If you'd rather see newer posts first, you can manually switch to a chronological feed:
Settings > Account preferences > Feed preferences > Most recent posts

LinkedIn says the mix will continue to evolve. For now, it’s prioritising perceived relevance over timeliness.
