International affiliate marketing network Webgains and online fundraising platform Savoo.co.uk are teaming up for an innovative affiliate fundraising campaign in honour of World Environment Day. The campaign, running from June 3rd to June 9th, 2024, aims to raise money for the Rainforest Trust, an organisation dedicated to protecting critical habitats threatened by the climate crisis.

As part of the initiative, Webgains advertisers PatPat, a childrenswear brand, and HALARA, an activewear retailer, will offer exclusive voucher codes through Savoo. A percentage of the affiliate commission from these offers will be donated to the Rainforest Trust, supporting efforts to safeguard endangered species' habitats.

To amplify the campaign’s impact, both PatPat and HALARA have agreed to provide increased commissions and exclusive pay-per-click rights to Savoo for the week that it runs.

Charitability is part of Savoo’s USP. The platform allows consumers to contribute to various causes while saving money, donating a portion of all of its commissions to charity. Users can also track how much they donate to each cause within the platform.

“We are very excited to partner with Savoo and Webgains to raise funds for vital rainforest protection through digital voucher codes, meaning that people can save money while also giving back and helping to protect our natural world,” said Vicky Wallace, Fundraising Manager at Rainforest Trust UK.

During the campaign week, Savoo will donate 3% of the affiliate commission on offers redeemed for HALARA and 15% for PatPat. This extended campaign period around World Environment Day, which falls on June 5th, allows more visitors to benefit from the exclusive offers and contribute to the fundraising efforts.

This partnership marks another example of Webgains’ commitment to environmental and social causes. In July 2023, Webgains became the world’s first affiliate network to earn B Corp certification, recognising its high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency.

Last year, I spoke with Ami Spencer, Chief Operations Officer at Webgains, about the B Corp accreditation. Around that time, Spencer was suggesting that really, once you get the coveted B Corp status, the work has only just begun. Being a B Corp business means consistently engaging in initiatives that support the environment and social responsibility.

It’s encouraging to see Webgains continue to break new ground in this area with inspiring initiatives like this. Affiliate marketing is a valuable test zone for blending marketing and sustainable efforts. It’s great to see this kind of experimentation.
