London was the place to be last week, as the Hello Partner team descended on the Capital city to participate in Rakuten Advertising DealMaker Europe 2023. The team started the day on a high, as they were still coming down from the fantastic day before at impact.com’s Partnership Experience 2023.

Taking place at The Brewery, the large venue was a welcoming one, with smiling faces greeting us at every step of the way – not even the spit of rain could dampen the partnership joy! The buzzing atmosphere was evident from the very start, with a grand breakfast presented in the food hall to all the early birds who were keen to catch the worm – deals were being made as early as 9:00 am.

As the day went on, hundreds more arrived as The Brewery quickly became the place to connect, learn, grow, and make deals with over 700 of the industry’s professionals, advertisers, and publishers.

The day’s agenda included multiple sessions on affiliate challenges, the global economy, and more, with a major focus on affiliate optimisation, networking, and community. We made the most out of the deal-making enthusiasm, as we jumped right into the crowds of attendees to find out what PI LIVE Europe topics they want to see at this year’s event – the answers did not disappoint! We also created more excitement with our very own ‘Guess How Many Sweets in a Jar’ game – stay tuned to find out who won a brand new pair of AirPods this week!

The overarching themes of the day included personalisation, data-driven strategies, and consumer trust, with sessions exploring how the affiliate channel is going to face some challenges this year, whilst also providing new ways to deal with these issues effectively. We made sure to note down the most important takeaways, talking with senior leaders and attendees to bring you our top highlights from DealMaker Europe 2023.

Outthinking Affiliate Challenges

One of the first few sessions to start the day was a panel discussion made up of Rakuten’s Client Services, Publisher and Advanced Analytics teams who shared how they tackle the toughest challenges faced by the industry by utilising their “exceptional people, cutting-edge tech, and expansive network.”

Moderated by Deepti Vashee, Director of Client Services, the panel included some of Rakuten’s biggest changemakers: Richard Vuong, Senior Manager of Advanced Analytics; Valentina Tedesco, Senior Publisher Partnerships Manager; Will Clapham, Senior Account Manager, Affiliate Marketing.
