Ahead of Snap Inc.’s annual Partner Summit, Hello Partner caught up with the platform’s Head of Talent Partnerships EMEA, Julie Bogaert, about the upcoming plans to strengthen the tools for Snap’s evolving creator community.
Starting as a photo messaging platform that allowed users to connect with family and friends, Snap's development has been rapidly increasing over the recent years, and now, the app has evolved to become a solid fixture within the creator ecosystem. Bogaert’s role at the company was developed just over a year and a half ago, in alignment with the growth of Snap’s content-creator tools, and she is thrilled to have supported the increased engagement in creator content during this time.
Aiming to evolve even further, as announced in this year’s Partner Summit, Snap is introducing a new series of tools to greater support its creator community. Let’s take a look at some of the new features…
Revenue sharing and monetisation
Snap Inc. is excited to introduce its new revenue-sharing option for creators producing content for Stories. This means that ads can be placed within the Stories of creators, allowing for a consistent stream of income. When Hello Partner chatted with Bogaert, she emphasised how this financial support will encourage creators to reinvest their earnings into the content they create for their growing communities.
As evidenced by an early pilot of the programme, creators are now posting more frequently on Snapchat, resulting in increased viewership – in fact, the amount of time that Snapchatters in the US spend watching Stories from verified creators has more than doubled compared to the previous year.
