When the pandemic struck in 2020, the whole world was hit with a reality check, and with more time to think, social media became home to a vast amount of debate surrounding public health and safety, including a huge boom in conversations surrounding the Black Lives Matter movement. The cultural conversations that came to the forefront of news outlets and social media platforms during the past couple of years are not new ones, but for the first time in our lives, thanks to the lockdowns forcing us to take a step back from the hustle and bustle of working life, we were presented with the opportunity to delve into some of the world's most pressing topics.
The importance of education
Two of the most prevalent conversations on social media were, of course, health, due to the fact we were facing a public health crisis, and equality disparity - especially following the tragic death of an innocent black man, George Floyd.
