Stay at the top of your game
Google has made a bunch of major updates recently, and it does have implications for affiliate marketers (of course). Lina Tichomirova shared some key strategies for adapting to these changes:
- TOFU content is less effective with AIO; prioritise video and diversify beyond Google.
- Focus on creating original, exclusive content that LLMs can’t replicate—share it via social media, newsletters, and other channels.
- Adjust your MOFU keyword strategy, as these now lead users to brand sites, not review pages.
- Prioritise BOFU for conversions by creating valuable content that drives sales.
- Partnerships on Reddit, Quora, and forums are still valuable, but they’re losing impact.
- Review partnerships with large, high-authority affiliates, as they’re dominating the space.
Key takeaway: Diversify. Google is volatile, and relying on one platform is risky.
