What is a container tag?

Container tags are a way to manage all the other tags that fit into a website. Usually, it’s an area where JavaScript is added, and processes can then be activated off the back of that code. For third party technologies, it’s an easy way to tunnel into a retailer’s website, as they can simply add in the JavaScript, switch it on, and begin working on the website. Outside of the affiliate world, one of the most common container tags is Google Tag Manager.
