Happy Tuesday!
This week, we're shouting out company merch.
Most of the things I own seem to be random bits of company merch I've collected like a conference magpie.
I wrote this very intro in a TikTok notebook with an FMTC pen (scroll down to fact check me).
I'd like to know – what's the best piece of merch you've picked up at a conference? Reply to this email with your answers.

While we're on the topic of last-click...
In a recent LinkedIn post, Lacie Thompson shared a takeaway from Snap and EMARKETER’s Media Measurement Survey:
“If we mostly agree that the value of marketing is not accurately measured based on last click, do we think paying someone based on last click is the right way to do it? ”
It’s a powerful point. If most marketers agree that last click isn’t the best way to measure, why are so many still using it to pay partners?
The broader survey reveals a consensus: last click fails to reflect the full marketing journey. 75% say it misses brand experiences that drive consideration. 72% say it ignores the upper funnel. And yet, many still default to it – likely because it’s easy.
But as Lacie prompts us to ask: is ease worth more than accuracy?
If we want to truly value what works, we ought to look beyond last click. Multi-touch and hybrid models might take more work, but they tell a fuller story. And that story is worth rewarding.

Did you get the last location?
If you guessed it was the former HQ of LinkShare, you would be correct!
LinkShare was founded in 1996 in New York City as one of the first affiliate marketing networks, pioneering tracking and analytics for online partnerships.
It was acquired by Rakuten in 2005 and eventually rebranded as Rakuten Affiliate Network, now operating under Rakuten Advertising.
Below is this week's location.
