Claudia Sandino: CapCut’s New Update Could Cost Creators and Marketers Their Video Content Rights

Almost every creator uses CapCut - it’s one of the most popular video editing apps right now. While it’s very useful for both influencers and marketers, there’s a major update that’s going to change your rights significantly.

Claudia Sandino, Director at Omnivore, recently spotted that CapCut updated its Terms of Service, and while the rollout was quiet, the implications are anything but.

💭 Thursday thoughts

It suddenly hit me this week that we were bang in the middle of the year. If you'd like to spiral with me, we're now closer to 2050 than we are to 2000.

There's more. Somebody on Reddit worked out that this year, 2025, is 45 squared. The next time the year will be a perfect square is in 91 years - in 2116.

Thanks for the mini quarter-life crisis Reddit.
