In case you missed it last week: We've set up a private, exclusive channel in our Slack group for advertisers and agencies to discuss ad fraud.

Whether that's dodgy subnetworks, PPC abusers, shady influencer networks, or any other kind of malpractice – this channel is a safe space to discuss these problems and work out solutions with other players.

Already, we've seen some interesting discussions and useful info shared.

You can access the channel by joining our Slack group and then sending a DM to Sol Wilkinson.

Tip of the Week

Stay at the top of your game

Recently, I attended Judging Day for the PMAs in London.

With our esteemed judges, I ran through the results for various categories and discussed scores.

What struck me the most was that hard results and numbers were not the end-all-be-all for our judges. In many cases, innovation, flair, and risk were attributes that really made a campaign stand out. And these often happened to perform tremendously well with consumers too.

Then, I came across a post by Rodd Chant, which starts, "Creative agencies need to be more like bands."

"Imagine if bands sat in the studio and looked at audience research spreadsheets, data, click-through rates, and algorithm insights while trying to craft songs. Imagine if every chord, word, verse, and chorus had a committee of people at the record company telling them what to change and throwing in their ideas... It would kill the songs."

Sure, there are some differences between performance marketers and musicians – but, ultimately, both groups are trying to connect with an audience in some way.

Imagine if the Beatles only recorded songs based on what had worked before. We'd be stuck with a hundred 'Love Me Do's'.

The same goes for any number of brands who might have never jumped headfirst into affiliate. Managers who stuck to one end of the funnel. Many, many different examples.

Be bold and take risks, experiment and break new ground. There's a reason PI LIVE USA is taking place at the Hard Rock Hotel this year...
