Stay at the top of your game
This week, a post stood out from BrandVerity's David Iglesias on the growing risk of 'cashback fraud'.
Ad-hijacking by cashback members is on the increase. Black hat affiliates are joining cashback programmes to fraudulently earn commissions by hijacking ads.
Some cashback sites are reportedly taking steps to prevent this, but others apparently turn a blind eye.
As always, it’s essential to monitor your PPC campaigns closely and flag any suspicious activity to your affiliate and network. Protect your brand by enforcing programme terms and conditions—no one should be paying commissions for hijacked traffic. Stay vigilant and ensure fraud prevention remains a top priority.
This is an interesting and troubling area of dodgy activity. In light of cashback's success with regulators recently, it seems likely that it will be on the rise.
