Did you enjoy PI LIVE Europe? We hope so. If you didn't make it: Hey, don't worry, there's still PI LIVE USA on the way.

Also, we've got such a hoard of content from the show that we're feeling like this guy – so expect lots of insights on the way.

Shout out to RevWise for this fun video shot at PI LIVE, where the team asked attendees: If affiliate marketing were a food, what would it be?

I spent far too long dwelling on this, but I think I have the perfect answer: vegetarian ramen.

Think about it: affiliate is low-cost, risk-free, flexible, and it combines lots of different groups. These are all qualities of the humble veggie ramen bowl (risk-free since there's no meat i.e. no chance of food poisoning).

Not only this, a good bowl of veggie ramen covers the entire food pyramid, just like affiliate covers the entire marketing funnel. Reply to this email if you think you have a better answer (I doubt you will) – we'll include the best one in next week's newsletter.

In affiliate, we like to be in lots of different places at once – as though we're in a multiverse.

But anyone who's seen Rick and Morty or Everything Everywhere All At Once knows that multiverses are nothing but trouble.

Keep your work centralised, in one space – it's easier. Sprout Social is a platform that helps marketers streamline their social efforts all within one simple platform.

With a unified dashboard, users can manage multiple social accounts and view and compare analytics for each all in one place. Perfect for monitoring affiliate campaigns across the online multiverse.

Pick of the day

"We can't allow this situation to continue—it's damaging the industry long term." Adam Ross, CEO of Awin, Announces Bold Tracking Initiative

At PI LIVE Europe, Adam Ross, CEO of Awin, announced that the network will be rolling out a Conversion Protection Initative – a new strategy to prevent free affiliate sales and lost revenue for publishers.

Millions of revenue are lost each year due to issues with tracking and consent. This new initiative gives advertisers a deadline to ensure their affiliate tracking methods are working as best as they can to account for more accurate attribution. Where deterministic tracking isn't possible, probabilistic tracking will be used to compensate publishers.

We spoke to Adam Ross before the show to learn more about this initiative.

Tip of the Week

Stay at the top of your game

One insight I pocketed from PI LIVE was the power of sustainable advertisers in affiliate marketing.

I heard about this phenomenon from multiple, unrelated people. Apparently, affiliates are finding lots of value in working with environmentally-conscious brands.

These sellers are proving especially popular with younger consumers, which means as their purchasing power increases, there should be a lot of growth in this sector.

But you don't even need to wait for this happen. It's going on right now. Affiliates have reported larger AOV and more sales through sustainable partners, which is great news for the industry and the planet.

If your audience is a younger demographic and you aren't working with sustainable advertisers, consider changing that. Evidence shows that this is an effective trend in affiliate right now – and it's likely to last too.
