Happy Wednesday! Brat Summer has had a good run this year, and who hasn't been a fan โ€“ I certainly have been. But it's over. Done.

It's been usurped by a bigger, better trend. Now is the time for a Retail Media Summer.

This space has been bubbling up. It saw a lot of fanfare at Cannes Lions. There is a huge opportunity in this area, but it seems affiliate hasn't quite cracked the code for it yet. Until now.

Simon Baptist has proposed a way for affiliate to tangibly get involved in the space and generate new revenue streams for all partners involved. More on that below.

Now, on with the news!

In today's newsletter:

  • Pick of the day: Retail media is huge. Affiliates can tap into this to generate better results for everyone involved, but advertisers and networks need to get on board first.
  • Trending: Google's Antitrust ruling has been the talk of the town this week, but what does it actually mean for digital marketers?

Tip of the Week

Stay at the top of your game

Does anyone remember Internet Explorer?

It doesn't exist anymore, but at one time it dominated the web browser market. At its peak, Internet Explorer controlled over 90% of the market.

But it couldn't stay at the top forever. Ultimately, it was buried by Google Chrome.

Google rules all right now, but who's to say it won't follow the same fate? Particularly with the outcome of this week's lawsuit, there's never been a better time to experiment with other search engines.

Recently, we've seen coupon sites leverage their Microsoft partnerships to bring coupon listings to Bing search results. Affiliates have begun to try out ranking on other search engines โ€“ and alternative search engines, like Reddit and TikTok, are also becoming popular choices.

If not for anything else, you might be able to source a new audience.

Get in there now, while it's still quiet.
