Why You Need to Start Preparing For a TikTok Ban Today
On Monday, lawyers headed to court in the United States to argue that the US Government’s bill to ban TikTok violated free speech rights. The ban could see the app removed from the app store and prevent those who already have the app downloaded, from receiving updates.
If the ban comes into effect, small businesses and creators could see a significant hit to their income, brands would need to begin to adjust their social media marketing strategies, and competitors would likely receive a large increase in users and engagement.
It’s a nervous moment within the creator economy, but there are actions you can take now to help limit any potential damage from the ban.

Join the Conversation on LinkedIn - Dealing with Rejection
I couldn’t help but laugh after seeing this come up on my LinkedIn feed - and I’m not even a social media manager! But as well as a lot of laughs, the post also racked up over 70 comments, and it sparked an interesting dialogue.
Girl Power Marketing who posted the meme added in their comments, “REMEMBER, IT’S NOT PERSONAL: Keep rejected ideas in a content graveyard, just [because] it’s a no now doesn’t mean it’ll always be a no!!!”
Another comment read, “Each ‘no’ pushes us to come back even stronger. We’re bold and we’re open to feedback, it makes us who we are! Rejection is just part of the creative process, and sometimes it’s about timing or fit, not the quality of ideas.”
It’s always important to be open and honest about the difficult aspects of your job, and remind yourself that rejection can often be redirection! Plus it always helps when you can have a bit of a laugh about it too.
